I don’t think I’ve ever seen an all green restaurant before.
Balls out design requires suspension of fear and doubt. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an all green restaurant before and there may be a legitimate reason that floated in my mind to spook me every week on this job: green gives us a sickly pallor when misused. At the Clarendon however it turns out it makes the reds pop: your lipstick, your cheeks, that sexy dress and the tomato on the lamb burger. Green gives you that pine forest feel of the outdoor with the warm moss feel of the velvet indoor. Part pub, part club, the Clarendon emerged as a fresh newcomer to Ottawa’s buoyant foodie scene and is possibly my favorite child.
